Bracketology --- Huskies still on outside looking in
Posted by Bob Condotta
Despite some impressive play by the Washington the last two weeks, it still hasn't been good enough to get the Huskies into ESPN's Bracketology.
In the latest edition, released today --- the first since right before Christmas --- Joe Lunardi lists UW as one of "the first four out.'' That's exactly where they were on the last Bracketology.
None of this means anything, of course, just fun to chew on this time of year. And interesting that at least in Lunardi's eyes, UW still has a little bit of proving to do to get into the tournament.
Lunardi only lists four Pac-10 teams this time --- UCLA, Arizona State, Cal and Stanford, which is a new arrival. Last time he had each of the first three, plus Arizona and Washington State, which each have dropped out since then for understandable reasons.
Arizona hasn't missed the tournament since 1984, a streak of 24 years that is the longest active streak in the nation and second-longest in history behind only the 27 of North Carolina.
As for UW, have to imagine that two wins this weekend --- against two of the teams Lunardi has in the tournament --- will get the Huskies into the next edition.
