Previewing the Pac
Posted by Bob Condotta
With Pac-10 play beginning tomorrow (and Saturday for the Huskies) we published our preview of the conference today.
First is this overview of the conference including comments from RPI expert Jerry Palm who thinks UW may have to go 11-7 in conference play to get invited to the NCAA Tournament.
We also have this team=by-team analysis from Bud Withers, who picks UW fifth.
Times columnist Jerry Brewer, meanwhile, writes that the Huskies are still hard to read entering conference play.
I also had this short roundup of UW's injury situation.
IN OTHER NEWS. ...
--- Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News also weighed in on the Pac-10 this week and has the Huskies pegged at No. 7.
--- The Arizona Republic has a short preview of the conference and concludes that UW isn't a team with enough fire power to contend.
--- And here's an even more pessimistic view of UW from Jake Curtis of the San Francisco Chronicle, who picks UW eighth.
All for now.
