A few quick updates
Posted by Bob Condotta
Don't forget that the Huskies have a big game tomorrow night, playing Kansas in the semi-finals of the CBE Classic.
Game time is 7 p.m. Pacific and televised on ESPN2 with Bob Knight expected to do the color commentary.
Here are a few other notes from UW SID office:
--- The team arrived yesterday (Saturday), early evening on a direct SW Airlines flight. Practiced at Bank of America Arena first then traveled. Enjoyed dinner at famous BBQ joint Arthur Bryant's BBQ then retired for the evening. Dinner said to be an excellent choice.
--- Team practiced 2 hours at Penn Valley Community College today. Had study hall in the afternoon. Will attend the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Induction this evening at the Sprint Center. Will also check out the College Basketball Experience while they are there:
--- Matthew Bryan-Amaning went through the entire practice with no problems and has been upgraded by UW Coach Lorenzo Romar from "doubtful" to "questionable." Of the three areas injured (hip, knee, ankle) it appears the ankle is giving him the most trouble. He looked good during practice but was a little stiff afterward.
--- The team is staying at the Kansas City Downtown Marriott, which is right across the street from Municipal Auditorium --- the site of the NCAA Final Four nine times including 1953 when Washington lost to Kansas then defeated LSU to take 3rd place in the NCAA Tournament.
