Bodog.com lists UW ninth in Pac-10
Posted by Bob Condotta
While Lorenzo Romar and other UW coaches are optimistic of a turnaround for the Huskies next season, the folks at Bodog.com aren't buying it just yet.
In Bodog's latest futures bets listing odds to win the NCAA Tournament next season, the Huskies have the highest odds of any Pac-10 team other than Oregon State --- or essentially placing them ninth in the conference.
Here are the Pac-10 odds:
UCLA 10-1
USC 30-1
Arizona State 40-1
Arizona 45-1
Stanford 80-1
Washington State 80-1
Cal 100-1
Oregon 100-1
Washington 150-1
Oregon State 500-1
North Carolina is the favorite at 9-2.

Never heard of this site, and the odds here tell me why.... Oregon State at 500-1..... Try 10,000 to 1.... they have no players.... and Arizona as a 45-1, with who?? With their team of only 5 eligible players? These odds are a complete joke...

i agree mix. stanford has a brand new coach, lost both its best players, and they expect them to be 5th in the pac10? wow thats horribly sad. are we really that bad here on the west ciast? what a joke. try 7-9th place for Stanford. u guys can quote me on that....

i find 9th place really hard to believe. i know they haven't been great the past couple years, but i think in terms of talent they can match up pretty well against most of the teams in the conference.

Not sure I think 9th is right, but without a center game, not sure it will get much above 6th if they are lucky.

Gabe, Mix, it's obvious that you don't 'get' oddsmaking.
They have nothing to do with predicting reality. They are about making money for the book.

this isn't a prediction of 9th place, it's odds of winning the championship... But I still don't get it... Since Oregon, Arizona, Cal (without Anderson), Stanford and WSU are as likely or more likely to miss the Dance than UW... and you gotta make the dance to win it. I still think this site is smoking crack, maybe they've never heard of Jon Brockman?
