New look for UW floor
Posted by Bob Condotta
Often times when we are here doing football interviews we can look out at the basketball floor and see a beehive of activity.
Not this week as the floor is getting its annual check-up --- new coats of paint, etc.
It's a task that is a little more complicated this year, however, as the workers must also color in a new three-point line.
In case you've forgotten, the three-point line is expanding to 20 feet, nine inches beginning next season. Here's a story detailing the change pointing out that the women's three-point line will remain the same, so all floors will now have two sets of lines.
As noted in this story a year ago, UW coach Lorenzo Romar doesn't think the new line is going to make a big difference saying that "guys who can make it at the other line can make it at this line.''
We'll know for sure in a year.

Hopefully the floor work includes making the purple W in the middle of the floor match the purple in the keys and around the boarder of the court. The current two-toned purple looks absurd.
