Sac State update
Posted by Bob Condotta
A day after interviewing UW assistant Cameron Dollar, Sacramento State officials spent Wednesday interviewing local junior college coach Brian Katz.
Katz is the coach at San Joaquin Delta in Stockton but lives in Sacramento and is selling that local knowledge in his attempt to get the job. Sac State is due to interview another JC coach, Tony Marcopulos of Cabrillo College, today. A decision could come any time after that, though it's not expected until early next week.
IN OTHER NEWS
--- Bill Grier is said to have been offered the Oregon State job and likely to make a decision today.
--- Bud Withers of our staff reports that Tony Bennett has called recruits and said he's not leaving.
--- Jon Wilner writes there is still some uncertainty about the future of Trent Johnson at Stanford.
--- Here's a brief update on the Cal coaching job.
AND AS FOR DEANGELO CASTO and UW, the Huskies don't have room for any more recruits in the class of 2008. As mentioned on here a lot, the Huskies are actually already one over the limit for next season. UW coach Lorenzo Romar said on signing day the Huskies were done and would sign no more players for the Class of 2008.
All for now.
