Valparaiso drubbed
Posted by Bob Condotta
Valparaiso didn't exactly help the perception of the Huskies any tonight.
Instead, in their first game after beating the Huskies in Seattle last Wednesday the Crusaders were hammered tonight at Houston in the second round of the CBI, 91-67.
Houston hit 16-36 three-pointers while Valpo made just 7-23.
The Valpo blog from the Gary Post-Tribune reports that Crusaders coach Homer Drew said the positive experience at UW would outweigh the blasting at Houston.
The Huskies, meanwhile, can console themselves with the thought that they remain the last team to have beaten UCLA.
SONICS LOOKED AT CONROY: The Sonics apparently considered former Husky Will Conroy before they signed Eddie Gill to a 10-day contract to fill in at point guard. Apparently there might have been some complications with Conroy's Italian League contract that got in the way.
Conroy has been lighting up the NBA D-League since returning from Italy, averaging 18 points, 10.4 assists andn 4.7 rebounds.

i'm so embarrassed! (still) about the huskies and the cbi. i can't wait for spring football to help get our minds off things a bit. what do you expect about conroy? the sonics would never sign someone the fans could get excited about. they have to carefully foster apathy among the fan base. i'm actually mad about that as well. what a bad time to be a supes/dawg fan.

I agree about the depressing state of the Sonics, but I'm not that down on the Dawgs.
I think UW hoops will be very fun to watch next year. Their biggest gap was somebody other than Apples who wanted to take shots. I think some of the Freshman (Suggs/Thomas) have the potential to fill that void. Brockman has improved every year and I think he will again. Qpon played well at the end of the year and I expect him to be solid next year. MBA was shakey but showed great skill at times. Overton played like a Freshman, but the potential is there.
And football could be good next year, and very very good the following year.
Patience Dawg fans.

Just admit it guys, the Huskies sucked huge last year. They were so bad I didn't bother wasting my money watching them. When your bad it's just best to admit it move on. The Cougars were simply much much better than us last year. Next year remains to be seen.
Are there any delusional Huskies out there still think the season went well? Patience you Ugly Princess of Huskyville, stay in your closet.

the dawgs will not be good next year either. ur retarded and delusional if you believe they will. They were one of the worst teams in america last year, worse than the football team relatively. Fire LoRo.

Too bad for Conroy, he deserves to be in the NBA. If he was on the Sonics, it would just be another reason to be angry about them being stolen.
