Brockman named to USBWA All-District Team
Posted by Bob Condotta
Jon Brockman may be out for the Pac-10 Tournament, but he continues to pile up post-season awards.
The latest came today from the United States Basketball Writers Association, which named him to its 10-man District IX team, which consists of players in any conferences from Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Hawaii and Alaska.
Here's a link to the team and as you can see, all 10 players on the team are from the Pac-10. In fact, the District IX team is simply all 10 players who made up the Pac-10's first and second teams, which were announced Monday.
TV TOMORROW: As a few of you have pointed out, the UW game tomorrow will be joined in progress on FSN after the telecast of the Sonics game at Boston, which begins at 4:30 p.m. That means the first half of the UW game may be pre-empted. However, the Pac-10 Tournament will also be available on Fox College Sports (channel 415 on Comcast). Poster Rob also reports that the game will be available on FSN West DirecTV or Dish. So there are some options for those of you with expanded systems.

Kind of tough to have a good team with only a single decent player. Good to hear of the accolades for Brockman but the problem is the REMAINING team members – most of then are down right crappy with too many ‘it’s all about me’ players. That is where Romar could take a few hints from Bennett during recruiting. Quit this “The UW has just received commitment from a fast paced, long range shooter, and a ‘I want to take the last shot’ type of player…we think he will be a great addition to our squad next year”. Same old script….same old results – MORE LOSSES.
Like I said before, I am sure glad UW locked this idiot up for a long, long, long LONG time.

Matty,
Thanks for setting the challenge up! Should be fun even though I normally suck at these things. Can't resist picking a boat load of upsets!

I am a longtime Husky hoops fan and wanted to see if I am the only one who is tired of watching the run and gun, lack of fundamental basketball that Romar is putting on the floor. Many of the players have a ton of heart but are lacking the following. Ability to set screens, move without the ball and get open, pass the ball and keep it moving, hustle back on defense, block out when a shot goes up and actually run an offense that has more than 3 sets so the other team can't predict every move.
Anyhow, if Tyrone ran his football team like this he would be in trouble. I think we need to start coaching the fundamentals again in Montlake. Good luck on the NIT.

Wow, no Pargo on the list. I guess his stats aren't as big as others due to the balance on the Zags, but man, all Pac Ten players? Pargo had a great year.
Very interesting.
