Latest NIT-ology sends Huskies to Florida
Posted by Bob Condotta
The NIT-ology brackets are now being updated every other day or so, and the latest projections give the Huskies an interesting matchup --- a first-round date at two-time defending NCAA Tourney champ Florida.
Here's the bracket, which lists UW as a No. 8 seed.
Such a matchup would also be a return to his former stomping grounds for UW guard Ryan Appleby, who began his career as a Gator before transferring after one season.
Here's a link to the front page of NIT-ology which includes some of the reasoning behind the projections.

Just like the Cougs! One Saturday, lose the first tourney game, get exposed in the NCAA's.

It's interesting that the only other Pac-10 team listed is Cal, as a 5 seed. That leaves out Arizona, ASU, and Oregon. It's hard to see how all three of these teams go to the NCAA tournament. And I was going to rank on IUPUI, another 8 seed, until I looked them up and saw that they have a decent team.

How is Cal a #5 if we are #8? We are ahead of them in Conference.

I wouldn't put much stock into this. Last year they projected us to be a 5 seed in the NIT. We all know how that turned out...

I gotta say, if Arizona loses tonight and gets an invite to the NCAA at 8-10 it will be the biggest farce ever. Arizona is clearly not the team they have been in the past and I don't care about their RPI ranking. 8-10 is not good enough. It will be a *^%^$^& butt kissing of their PAST accomplishments.
