LSU loses by 20 at Wichita State
Posted by Bob Condotta
In case you missed it, LSU was blasted at Wichita State last night, 67-47.
This is relevant since the Huskies play at LSU next Saturday in what will be Washington's last chance to make a real statement in non-conference play.

I think our non-conference schedule has been good. We played tough in the preseason NIT, but it could of went either way in both games in New York. But who knew the other teams that we scheduled would be this bad. The Oklahoma State game was a joke because they suck, but one out of a million they shoot like 90% from the field. Miracle on ice stuff. Pittsburgh is a top 10 team and it was a tough game, it could of went either way. LSU is playing without Glenn Davis, which would of been his senior year if I'm not mistaken. I think the team will do fine the rest of the season and we'll make the NCAA tournament.

It is true that you can't have expected OSU to be so bad, but LSU isn't really that good either. So outside of the Pitt game, the non-conference isn't quite so stellar, I think the SOS is rated around 130-150 or so. So unless the Huskies tear through the PAC-10, which the team seems to widely inconsistent to do (blowout PSU, but barely beat UP), I think you can safely start looking towards next year for any hopes at a post-season and enjoy the season for the fun it is now.

What, the Puppies playing an away game? Could't Romar get Western Oregon to play in Seattle?

I sort of agree with the 3:33PM post. The SOS isn't bad but we've got to win some of them! A&M, Syracuse and Pitt is a pretty tough lineup, let alone OK State (ummm on second thought maybe not) and LSU. Better than SOME schedules around the pac 10 anyways! The key thing is that the team HAS been inconsistent, but at times we are good enough to compete with the top of the pac 10. With Apples back we always have a chance!
