New uniforms to be unveiled Saturday
Posted by Bob Condotta
The wait is just about over for all of you who have been asking about new uniforms.
Word today is that the Huskies will officially unveil their new football uniforms on Saturday at the annual spring game.
The players won't be wearing the uniforms but the school will have some of them on display on mannequins. They will also have order forms available for fans to get in their requests when they become available through the team shop later in the summer.
The uniforms are said to be something of a return to the look from the 1980s with some darker colors and stripes on the pants (or one set of the pants, apparently).
Anyway, they'll be there Saturday (we'll post pictures of them as soon as we can for those fans who can't be there).
The spring game begins at 1 p.m. at Husky Stadium but activities begin earlier in the day.
The select-a-seat event for prospective season ticket holders begins at 11:30 a.m. (details here). A kid zone featuring --- as you might surmise --- activities for kids will also open at 11:30 a.m. on the east end practice field.
There also will be a Big W Tailgate party for former players beginning around the same time in the parking lot near the climbing wall. About 250 former players are expected to attend.
Also, the spring game will be streamed live on GoHuskies.com and it will also be broadcast live on KJR-AM.
