The UW announced today plans to install a new FieldTurf synthetic playing surface next month in Husky Stadium, replacing the nine-year-old field that was originally installed during the summer of 2000.
According to the press release, the new surface will be installed by FieldTurf at a cost of approximately $350,000, which will come from the athletic department's operating budget. The project includes the removal of the existing surface and the installation of FieldTurf's latest two-and-a-half inch synthetic grass technology.
