Counting down the 10 best Huskies
Posted by Bob Condotta
My former Husky beat colleague Ted Miller has a really nice idea on his Pac-10 blog right now, counting down the 30 best players in the Pac-10.
It's such a fun idea, I thought I'd copy it and do a little Husky-version countdown --- specifically, listing the top 10 Washington players for 2009.
We'll start today with No. 10 --- defensive end Everrette Thompson.
Thompson came to UW last fall with a lot of fanfare out of Kennedy High, and in the muck of last season had a quietly productive year. He became a starter late in the year after wowing coaches with his play in practice, and he finished with five tackles for a loss --- third on the team --- and two sacks --- tied for third on the team --- despite a lot less playing time than a lot of other guys.
Now having a full college off-season to get bigger, stronger, faster, etc., no reason Thompson won't be a lot more productive in 2009.
