Huskies looking at Eastern receivers?

Interesting story in the Spokesman-Review this morning that the Huskies have apparently inquired about a pair of receivers from Eastern Washington.

As the story explains, the players are free to transfer because EWU is on probation next season and banned from the post-season. In this case, the rule applies only to players who are seniors since Eastern is banned for only one season.

The players in question are Brynsen Brown of Puyallup and Aaron Boyce of Kent. Boyce is from Kentwood and Brown of Emerald Ridge.

This is obviously an interesting development in a couple of ways --- 1, it indicates how aggressive the new UW staff is going to be in pursuing players, apparently unafraid to ruffle a few feathers along the way, though as the story indicates, all of this is within the rules; 2, it indicates they really want to get some immediate help at receiver, considering Steve Sarkisian also said on signing day that he thought the key get of the class was WR James Johnson. UW doesn't have a lot of proven receivers but the conventional wisdom is that there is a lot of young talent there. But Sarkisian and his staff appear to be leaving no stone unturned.

It's seemed like this has happened more in basketball of late, such as Lawrence Roberts leaving Baylor a few years ago. In a similar type of move, UW got kicker Brandy Brownlee in the mid'80s from SMU after that program was given the death penalty (that's explained a little in this story).
