Rondeau says Locker has "significant'' injury

Posted by Bob Condotta

Don't know if any of you heard Bob Rondeau's weekly spot on KJR-AM with Dave Mahler, but he said that any talk of moving Jake Locker to another position will be a "moot point'' because he thinks the injury to Locker is a lot more significant than has been let on.

Rondeau said he believes Locker will have to have significant surgery to repair the injury, making any talk of playing another position while he's hurt irrelevant. Like others, Rondeau also said he thinks the thought of moving Locker to safety, even if he could do it, is pretty ridiculous anyway.

We'll see if there is any update today when Tyrone Willingham meets the media here at noon.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK NAMED: Also, here are UW's Players of the Week --- Ronnie Fouch for offense, Chris Stevens for special teams. (Which means there was indeed no defensive POW named). LB Fred Wiggs, C Mykenna Ikehara and S Greg Walker were named for their work with the service teams during the week.
