Interesting news out of Arizona
Posted by Bob Condotta
A couple of interesting stories today out of both the Arizona schools:
--- First, Arizona State has taken a a big hit to an offensive line that already loomed as the team's biggest question mark for this season. Ted Miller reports that starting tackle Richard Tuitu'u has quit the team. He started one game at LT last season and was the projected right tackle heading into this year. Miller also reports that JC transfer defensive end Eugene Germany won't be enrolling as he has not met requirements set forth by the school.
--- Second, Arizona president Robert Shelton told the Arizona Daily Star that it is essentially bowl-game-or-else for coach Mike Stoops this season. Shelton says in the Q-and-A that he fully expects the Wildcats to make a bowl game this season and that if they don't "we have to really examine our program and what we're doing.'' Shelton also has some interesting thoughts on scheduling, saying the Wildcats won't be making any more trips to LSU "and playing that pro team in LSU in their home stadium.'' That's something the Huskies have agreed to do in 2012.
All for now.
