A new addition to the UW roster, offensive lineman Nick Scott, will apparently be a walk-on, according to an article on Scout.com this evening.
In the article (which is subscription-only), Scott is quoted as saying that "I don't have a scholarship or the promise of one, but they said if I have a good camp and they have one available for me, that I have a good chance of getting one.''
Scott transferred from Drake, a Football Championship Subdivision school where he spent the last three seasons --- redshirting his first year and playing the other two. After last season, he moved to Seattle to be close to family members after an illness in the family. For those reasons, he has apparently received a waiver making him eligible to play this season.
In the Scout.com story, Scott says he is 6-5 and about 337 and played last season at left tackle. He figures to join in the depth at that spot behind two-year returning starter Ben Ossai and backup redshirt freshman Mark Armelin.
