Passing along a few stories from the Football Forum, as well as some other notes, while wondering what I'm doing inside on such a nice day:
--- As noted yesterday, Tyrone Willingham is attending the Football Forum in Dallas. Among the stories emanating from that event is this piece on the lack of black coaches in Division-I. Just six this year including Willingham.
--- Minority hiring, plus a possible playoff, were the hot topics Friday, according to the Dallas Morning News.
--- Here's a good breakdown of the Forum.
--- Here's one for the anti-Willingham contingent. Willingham was among those coaches at the Forum who said they are against a playoff. John Ryan of the San Jose Mercury News says cynics would note that there may be a good reason Willingham would be against a playoff.
IN OTHER NEWS
--- Scott Wolf reports that USC will be ranked No. 2 in Lindy's pre-season poll.
--- Wolf also reports that the Pac-10 apparently turned down a chance for an eighth guaranteed bowl slot. Who wouldn't want to celebrate the holidays in Fresno?
--- It won't help them this year, but UCLA is getting a transfer from Colorado to help with O-line depth down the road. Guess Rick Neuheisel is allowed to take Colorado transfers now.
--- The Spokesman-Review has a good look at how Washington State ended up in so much trouble with the APR.
--- SI.com has a pretty-detailed look at OSU receiver Sammie Stroughter.
--- The Husky coaches tour hits Everett on Monday.
All for now.

Gee, is it ok for a white to have a job? Put out a hand, take the arm. You can give some people a million dollars and they would complain about the money being wrinkly......fire his ass, he ain't nothing!
...
Weird. Can I have some of whatever you're on right now?

In response to a previous post by mello. It is still over three months until the first game and you know that nothing you say or do is going to change the coaching situation. Yet you continue to whine like a petulant little child who can't convince the other kids to play the game you want to play. Why?
What possible outcome is meandering through your mind? How about you pretend you are a fan and talk football with us for a change. Not coaching ,but football. Give us your insight on our current players and our incoming recruits. Who do you think has a good shot at having a breakout year?
Are you excited about any of the new receivers?
Do you think running back by committee (ala USC ) will be successful?
Do you think the apparent new aggressive approach by the defense will start us back on the road to Lambo style dominance?
In other words, give us some Husky love instead of Coaching hatred.
At least until 5 or 6 games into the season. If things are going bad I'm sure there will be plenty of people agreeing with you.
Until then, Just remember.

It seems to me that for black coaches to be successful, then african-american players are going to have to stand behind them. How much difference would Taylor Mays and Jonathon Stewart have made for this team?
