Reports are that Louis Rankin has signed with Oakland and Marcel Reece with Miami.
That's on top of the Seahawks announcing earlier today that they have signed Anthony Russo.
The Rankin signing was reported by NFLDraftBible.com. Oakland's close to Rankin's hometown of Stockton, but the Raiders also drafted Darren McFadden and are pretty loaded at running back so that could be a tough go making that roster.

I think Reece probably has the best shot of all of the guys signed so far because Miami's roster is so full of holes. Unfortunately Rankin has no chance with the Raiders, hopefully he get a litle bit of chance in preseason to show what he can do and catch on with another team

What happened with Craig Chambers? I think he was an idiot for leaving the UW, but I am also interested in knowing of what his future plans are.

If Gant followed the blog, he'd know that Craig Chambers gave up football after last year due to injuries.

Louis Rankin doesn't stand a chance.....that is, unless the Raiders fancy a running back who has an aversion to getting upfield.
Then again, his down-on-first-contact style is rather reminiscent of Shaun Alexander...and he had a decent career for a couple of years right?
Maybe I'll be surprised...

Yuck fans are so stupid. One, when you run your QB that much and leave him exposed, he is bound to get hurt. Two, the Yucks were not an elite team as they only beat USC by a TD at home with their 2nd string QB. If the Yucks didn't choke in the last 4th of the season, think they would've beat LSU on a neutral field? The spread crap that doesn't translate well to the NFL gets shut down by fast defenses like LSU and LSU would've hit Dixon so hard he would've been blasted into 2009.
The Seahawks should've taken a FA flier on Reece. He could be a receiving threat as an H-back though don't know if Holmgren's offense incorporates that vs. a true TE.

"That's on top of the Seahawks announcing earlier today that they have signed Anthony Russo." Of all the guys I saw play on the offense last year, Russo looked the most like a good football player to me - hope he makes it with the Seahawks (or someone).

Anyword on any other Dawgs? Grayson Gunheim, Dan Howell, or Roy Lewis?

I'm trying to find out on Gunheim and Lewis and will pass it along when I get it. Pretty sure Howell has given up football and already has a non-football job lined up.

to the nike ducks who can't seem to take their eyes off of Husky football:
1) Why are you here?
2) I love the "if only" arguments. Hey, our first string QB got hurt and we won a national title in 1991. But, have fun making excuses for why the Ducks never actually accomplish anything big -- like winning national titles, Rose Bowls, etc. Yeah, you have a decent program. But when it counts... dare I say it.... you'll find a way to coug it!

Rankin did not make a mistake signing with Oakland. The Raiders lost their KR C. Carr to the Titans in the offseason. Rankin has a very good chance of making the team as a KR specialist/situational RB.
Reece is going to be a stud no matter where he ends up. 4.4 speed in a 240 lb body is impossible to find. He'll find a team who will put him on the practice squad for a season or two and develop him into a productive Hybrid H Back/TE.

First of all the ducks wouldn't have played LSU they would have played Ohio State. Ohio State was number one and LSU was number two. Given the problems that Big Ten teams have with spread option teams I do think that the ducks would have beaten Ohio State. LSU on the other hand would have been very tough.

When you comment on running the qb so much and leaving him exposed are you implying that the Huskies should change their offense. Because considering how much of the offense Locker was last year I would think that maybe you were describing the Huskies. And you know it will be worse this year until the young receivers and running backs mature and get some game experience under their belt.

Does anyone else think that Marcel Reece could be this years C.J. Wallace?
