Huskies 25th in country?
Posted by Bob Condotta
They are in the eyes of Mitch Harper of bleacherreport.com, who unveils his spriing practice Top 25 list here.
Harper puts UW at 25 calls the Huskies his "sleeper'' saying that they "should make great strides in the Pac-10 this season.''
Not to nitpick, but he also says the Huskies return 16 starters. I'd say a more accurate count is 13 unless he's counting the kickers which would put it to 15. Offensive starters gone are WRs Anthony Russo and Marcel Reece, tackle Chad Macklin and running back Louis Rankin; defensive starters gone are DE Greyson Gunheim, DTs Jordan Reffet and Wilson Afoa, LB Dan Howell and CB Roy Lewis.
He also calls Chris Polk a running back. But Polk is officially listed as a wide receiver by the Huskies, which is where it is expected he will begin his career, though UW coaches have left open the possibility that he will play at both spots.
UW's first three opponents are also all listed ahead of the Huskies --- Oregon at 15, BYU at 12 and Oklahoma at 3.
