Thanks to readers out there for passing along two stories that take an early look at next season for the Huskies.
I'll pass them along here to everyone.
First, here's a preview of the Huskies from Sunday Morning Quarterback that throws UW into its category of teams that are on the "Road to Recovery.'' Unlike another recent story that compared UW favorably to Illinois of a year ago, this writer says there isn't much of an adequate comparison to be made there. Sounds like something to investigate further down the road.
Second, here's a look at the entire Pac-10 from Scout.com. One minor quibble --- it's most accurate to say UW loses five defensive starters (Jordan Reffett, Greyson Gunheim, Wilson Afoa, Dan Howell, Roy Lewis) as opposed to seven. This could be one of those cases where a guy looked at UW's class designations for players (assuming guys like Trenton Tuiasosopo, Darin Harris and Mesphin Forrester are really seniors) and not what their actual eligibility is. You could probably question as well the statement that the UW defense "got to the quarterback on a regular basis.'' For the record, UW was sixth in the Pac-10 with 35 sacks but got a lot of those in a few games, such as seven against Syrcause.
