Angotti leaves team
Posted by Bob Condotta
Walk-on safety Jay Angotti, who played in all 13 games last season as a sophomore and made 11 tackles --- primarily on special teams --- is leaving the Huskies.
Angotti's mother, Janice Smolec, wrote in an e-mail that Angotti had hoped to earn a scholarship and felt he had done enough last season to get one. When one didn't come he decided to leave the team. For now, he is concentrating on academics but may pursue playing opportunities elsewhere.
A UW spokesman confirmed that Angotti has left the team.
