A few quick notes
Posted by Bob Condotta
A couple of other leftover notes from today:
--- CLARIFICATION ON THE PREVIOUS JASON WELLS NOTE: I got the previous note from talking to someone at UW last night under the impression this was a more recent surgery than what had been reported earlier. It's not. Wells had ACL surgery in October. The official word is that he will miss the spring and should be 100 percent in mid-summer. It took a while after he suffered the injury to get swelling down and range of motion back in the knee.
--- Word is that there are few, if any serious, academic situations in this class, meaning almost everyone --- if not everyone --- should be eligible. This is regarded as one of the best classes in recent memory in terms of academics.
--- The phrase "nose guard'' was thrown around a few times today talking about DT Alameda Ta'amu. Is that a tipping of the hand of the defensive scheme for the Huskies next season? Either way, new DC Ed Donatell has already said the Huskies will use some of both 4-3 and 3-4 looks next year.
--- The final Rivals.com national recruiting rankings show UW at 25th. Here's what Rivals says about UW's class: "Ty Willingham needs on-field success this season, and there are some players in this signing class who can help out in the fall. The Huskies did especially well on both lines.''
