Huskies ninth in official poll
Posted by Bob Condotta
The Huskies are ninth in the official Pac-10 media poll, released just a few minutes ago.
Here's how it reads: (10 points for a first-place vote, nine for second, etc.)
1, USC, 390 points
2, Cal, 323
3, UCLA, 305
4, Arizona State, 242
5, Oregon State, 237
6, Oregon, 226
7, Arizona, 162
8, Washington State, 115
9, Washington, 98
10, Stanford, 47
USC received all 39 first-place votes, the fifth straight year USC has been picked No. 1. It is only the third time in the 46 years of the poll a team has received every first-place vote --- USC was also a unanimous pick in 2004 and 2005.
More later.
QUICK UPDATE: The poll has correctly picked the eventual winner 24 of 46 times and has gotten it right the last seven years in a row.
