A painful anniversary
Posted by Bob Condotta
Thought it shouldn't go without mention in this space that today is the fifth anniversary of the passing of former Husky Curtis Williams.
Williams will obviously never be forgotten, and his memory remains fresh with his No. 25 gracing the field forever, and his brother, J.D., now prowling the sidelines as a Husky assistant.
But I thought it worth passing along some of the stories the Times wrote back then, including the story written the day after his death, Les Carpenter's moving column with rememberances from a favorite teacher; Steve Kelley's column that examined the eerie similarities between the death of Williams and that of former Ole Miss player Chucky Mullins; and the story on his funeral in Fresno.
