Franklin leads early, 8-3

Just on a side note, I'm sitting next to a big, chubby red-headed guy who's keeping stats for Franklin, I think, and his left elbow is practically bumping my arm as I type. He's already guzzled two bottles of water and the game has begun.

A gal that sang the "Star-Spangled Banner" turned in one of the most spectacular renditions that I can ever remember hearing at a high-school sporting event.

Both teams are playing physical and getting after it. The stands are about half-packed but in this cozy gymnasium, it still feels like a lot as Franklin goes ahead 4-0.

But Steve Campbell hits a 3 for the Vikings and the Quakers score again, and again. It isn't taking much for these guys to get into the game here tonight.
