City Hall's altered state
Posted by Joni Balter
Here I go again in my column today: The Seattle City Council and Mayor Greg Nickels relentlessly hit Seattle residents with a slew of cost increases. First, the council and mayor rally behind a trio of November ballot measures for parks, the Pike Place Market and Sound Transit buses and light rail. Then they get to work on a plan to raise solid waste and water rates by significant amounts over the next few years. Where does it end? Citizens need to get angry and vocal.
