This week in blogging

Posted by David Postman

I am working on a story for the paper that has to be done before the Democratic convention opens so blogging will be light at best for a few days.

But what are you wearing?
Is it appropriate casual business attire or casual northwest grunge?

Eagerly awaiting your return to the blog! It is one of the only ways that I stay abreast of and passively participate in politics.

King County Records and Elections, despite having my military address in Korea, didn't bother to send me a ballot for the primary. So I guess I'll just keep reading about politics, caring about politics, etc, without actually being afforded the right to VOTE.

Thanks King County Records and Elections!

(oh, and I would have done what I've had to do in the past - call them and ask them to send me a generic ballot via email that I can fill out manually and send back on my own dime, but I've been busy with work and I don't always have the energy to stay up till 12:30AM my time when their office opens. If I did it today, I'd be able to fill it out before polls close in the states, but it would still be postmarked Wednesday and, knowing the 2-1 Democrat controlled canvassing board, they'd be more than eager to toss my ballot in the trash. And it's the principle - it shouldn't be MY responsibility to hold THEIR feet to the fire so I can get a chance to vote. It's THEIR responsibility to provide ME that opportunity.)

Venting over. Thanks. :)

We did not receive our ballots in the mail, been on vacation for a month.

Contacting KC elections and spending over an hour on the phone we where assured that every King county Democrat would be able to vote today.

The plan in force today is verifying the list of voter ballots with registered Democrats any ballots not mailed will be hand delivered by 5 pm tonight.

Finally, we have a Government working for the people.
