Washington State; Through intensive research we have found Mayor Greg Nickels of Seattle and Gov. Chris Gregoire of Olympia are brother and sister.

We now can define Dumb and Dumber.

So now you know the whole story.

Buckle-up, put down your cell phone and be safe out there, everyone.
Tomorrow and Saturday are the deadliest days on American's highways.
Watch out for the other guy, cause they may not be watching out for you.

David, the topic of this post is your long weekend. So in an effort to stick to the topic as you request, I am encouraged that you are taking some R and R. You have had your nose to the grindstone for at least the last day. I notice a post yesterday morning on this very blog of at least 200 words. You deserve a long hot dog and the finest of hamburgers this holiday (extended 4 day) weekend. May god bless you and all the hard working political reporters in this town.

John Mc Cain and Barach H. Oboma are staying away from the number one issue: When are we going to start drilling for oil in all of the choice locations in our own country? Is there any reason not to, or are our politicians just plain stupid? Their excuses that it would take years to get started
is getting a bit old. It seems to me that if John Mc Cain or Barach Oboma can't or won't get off their backsides and change their negative opinions of our country being self reliant for its oil needs then perhaps neither of these politicians is suited to run our government.

What are the real reasons for a big percentage our countries economy being siphoned off to middle eastern oil concerns or are we just plain stupid to keep listening to their insipid arguments that all is hopeless and that we are responsible for this. In fact we are for electing politicians with no gumption or reasoning powers to determine what is best for our great country. All of their talk is meant to get them into office so that their party can get more jobs for their own elk. They don't give a damn about our great country which is founded on free enterprise-not political hacks that put their ambitions ahead of our country needs.

On Oct. 6, 2001 at its National Convention in Seattle, the Society of Professional Journalists passed a resolution urging members and fellow journalists to take steps against racial profiling in their coverage of the war on terrorism and to reaffirm their commitment to:

Do you think all Muslims SHOULD be viewed as terrorists?
That the variety of religious attire we encounter in the real world SHOULDN'T be presented in the media?
That inherently biased racial and ethnic profiling SHOULD be reinforced by journalists?
That gross stereotypes and prejudice regarding our diverse religious and ethnic origin SHOULD be reinforced by the media?
What in the world is wrong with the resolution?

If you see nothing wrong.
Then nothing I will say will help you understand how terrible this is.

If you can't explain what you think is "terrible", maybe a sense of objective journalistic decency and honesty it isn't such a terrible thing.
Or maybe you're ashamed to admit you think journalists SHOULD stir-up a frenzy of irrational fear, prejudice and hate against religious, ethnic and racial minorities the way some non-journalist hate-mongers do on the radio and internet.

Remember - we're talking about "journalists", not pretenders who do fringe talk radio or internet hate sites.

Tell that to the Irish, Japanese, Itailians, Germans, Christians, and Jews
SPJ Resolutions is absolute bigotry at itís worst.
Shocked anyone would stand by these un-American Resolutions.

Sept.11, 2001 is the same as Dec.7,1941 to this day I would like to hear outraged from the Muslim community of this act of war against us, the silence is deafening.

"...Tell that to the Irish, Japanese, Itailians, Germans, Christians, and Jews

The German jews were victims of a media complicit in exactly the kind of racial and ethnic bigotry the resolution warns against.
Had German newspapers told an objective truth instead of promoting Hitler's prejudiced and bigoted view of the Jews, the German people may not have been so easily swept-up into the ethnic hatred that led to the holocaust.

I think you've got it backwards.

I think not, end of conversation.

Okay then.
AMERICA'S "Irish, Japanese, Itailians, Germans, Christians, and Jews" are well-served by journalists who serve the objective truth promoted by the SPJ, instead of the prejudice and bigotry some would prefer them to promote.
