UPDATED: Dems haven't booked Burner airtime yet
Posted by David Postman
Eli Sanders points out that 8th District Democratic challenger Darcy Burner is not included in a list of 31 races nationwide in which the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has already reserved air time for TV commercials.
Sanders says the list is only an initial buy, and the list may not -- or may -- be important.
Either way, it’s worth keeping an eye on the outside ad money because the race in the 8th Congressional District, like a lot of other races around the country, has historically been heavily influenced by ad buys made in the last few months of the campaign. Every time you ask Democrats in the 8th why it didn’t work for them the last time around, you always hear the same thing: Not enough help from D.C.
UPDATE: Brian Wolff, executive director of the DCCC, issued a statement on the media buy:
Our initial media buy is the first act of a many act play. As we have been all cycle, the DCCC is focused, prepared, and organized. Watch what we do over the next four months and our aggressive strategy to expand the playing field and strengthen the Democratic Majority will become clear.

Sorry, but I think the candidate ought to drop out and give the campaign to somebody else considering an unrelated situation that is being exploited by others. I'm trying very hard to be graceful here...

Someone needs to tell the DEM leadership that we can win the 8th but we need to cut Darcy loose. Her fulll time job appears to have been to run for congress for the past 4 years and she spends so much time at it that her husband is responsible for raising their son. As someone who has talked to her and found her intellectual capacity lacking we can certainly find someone better.
As far as I can tell her cliam to fame is that she was a pm at microsoft (an entry level job) and she is female and gets lots of money for that. What exactly has she ever done for our community? Has she ever even been a PTA president? We can win the 8th and there are hundreds of qualifided people on the Eastside who are representaive of the voters and actually qualified.
Its time to cut Darcy lose.

Perhaps the Democrats are waiting for a real candidate to show up, not the imposter that we have here? What a joke.

This thread has died so here is some info.
Found this the other day explains how congress got us into the home mortgage fiasco.
The congress pass laws and always needs to fix them.
Can't they do it right the first time ever?

Darcy doesn't need air time. She wrote a position paper and annointed herself the winner. After all she did go to Harvard and did work at Microsoft and has a vast array of experience like being on her homeowner's board of directors. What else could the people from the 8th district want? Maybe the DNC has awakened and realized she cannot win so why waste the money!!

Darcy Burner's self-interest is evident in her track record of contributing abslutely nothing of value to the 8th Congressional District. If she was truly committed to public service, she had more than ample opportunity to do something redeeming other than self-promotion these past few years.

2 years ago, Ms. Burner was found to be wofully inadequate with a very thin resume...two years later, and all she has done has spent the past two years raising money from national special interest groups.
Dave Reichert has spent his whole life in service to this area.

Fantastic News!!! For us Reichert fans! I predict that Reichert will win again *and* this does not have anything to do with the Bush Factor. Rather, this has everything to do with leadership and a maturity that Burner significantly lacks.
