Romney drops out, says Democrats would "surrender to terror"

Posted by David Postman

Republican Mitt Romney said this morning he'll drop out of the race for the Republican nomination for president. This quote jumped out at me:

If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.

That is from his speech prepared for delivery at the Conservative Political Action Committee.

Wow. You stay classy, Mitt Romney.

Apparently the Republican strategy is "Vote for us or the Democrats will feed your babies to the terrorists". Wonder how well that will play this time around.

It worked for the GOP in 2004... so maybe America is dumb enough to fall for it again.

"surrender to terror"

Isn't that the Republican modus operandi? They've made terrorizing Americans through their fear mongering the foundation of their platform.

I believe a repug was in office during the only terrorist attack in our nation's history. Every repug should be ashamed when they look in mirror due to rhetoric like this, just shameful.

So, you leftists find the truth shameful? Of course you do. Why would I even ask?

Peter80's got a really short memory. Do you remember who was President during the first World Trade Center Bombing? How about the U.S.S. Cole? A couple of U.S. Embassies in Africa?

Hinton & Turbine represent the typical Republican idiot who would like to have everyone believe that only a Republican president can prevent terrorists from striking America. Well, we had a Republican president in office for nine months prior to the attacks on September 11th and that didn't stop them. Still, I don’t blame Republicans for the attacks - I blame the terrorists! Do you really think for a moment that the next POTUS - regardless of their party affiliation - would not do everything in his/her power to prevent future terrorist attacks from being carried out? Nothing could be farther from the truth and the American public should know this by now.

And Dems, do you actually think that US military forces will be immediately pulled out of Iraq if Hillary or Barack is voted into office? If so, then you are completely naïve. The fact of the matter is that the U.S. will have some form of military presence in this region for years to come as we are now committed to making sure that Iraq not only has a viable democratic government but also the ability for that democratic government to defend itself. How long do you think this will take? How much money will this cost the U.S.?

It’s too exhausting to rehash all of the reasons why Bush and Cheney should be impeached and held accountable for their respective crimes over the last five years, but this isn’t likely to happen in the next 9 months - SO - let’s motivate in November people, cast our votes, and restore HONOR and DIGNITY back to America. And let’s not forget to thank the angel Moroni that Mitts won’t be on the ballot.
