Burglary suspect's luck runs out when he goes to Shell

Posted by John de Leon

Seattle police arrested a man for investigation of burglary after he tried to break into two apartments Saturday afternoon.

At 1:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 500 block of West Mercer Street. A man had climbed onto a second-floor balcony and was trying to get inside an apartment.

By the time police arrived the suspect had fled.

A second victim then confronted the same man trying to enter the second-floor porch of an apartment in the 600 block of West Mercer Place. Again, the suspect was gone by the time officers arrived.

The suspect was then reported walking near a Shell station in the 600 block of Elliott Avenue West where he was arrested.
