Posted by John de Leon
Two new fire stations in Snohomish County will be dedicated during ceremonies planned for this weekend.
Snohomish County Fire District 1 will celebrate the grand opening of the new Martha Lake Fire Station with a dedication and open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the station, 16819 13th Ave. W.
The public can tour the new station, see the fire truck and medic unit and talk with firefighters. Other activities will include a demonstration of hazardous materials-response equipment based at the station, photos with the 1925 REO fire engine, interactive Hazard House presentations and the Wheel of Safety game.
The Marysville Fire Department is hosting an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the new Sunnyside Station 66, 7217 40th St. N.E. The open house will feature the Snohomish County Pipes & Drums, Marysville Fire Department Color Guard and a dedication by Chaplain Greg Kanehen.
