Mother, son accused of promoting prostitution

Posted by John de Leon

-- From Times staff reporter Sharon Pian Chan:

A mother and son who ran the Global Healing Center in Seattle promoted prostitution during massages, according to prosecutors.

Dongfang Li, 45, and her son Haoran Pu, 20, were each charged Feb. 11 in King County Superior Court with second-degree promoting prostitution.

The two were arrested after a neighboring business in the 3300 block of Northeast 125th Street reported the center to the police. Investigators found ads on Craigslist from Global Healing Center offering Asian massage.

In August and November, Li offered undercover police detectives a massage for $60 and $30 extra for a masturbation massage. Pu told a detective he was the manager for the center.
