Kent man arrested after crash; second driver sought

Posted by John de Leon

A serious two-vehicle crash in Oregon late last night has resulted in the arrest of a Washington state man on suspicion of DUI and a search for the driver of the second vehicle.

According to the Oregon State Police (OSP), the accident happened at 11:36 p.m. on Highway 11 near milepost 32 north of Milton-Freewater. The OSP said a 1998 Ford Taurus with three occupants was rear-ended by a 2003 Toyota driven by Tyrone Kinzer, 43, of Kent.

After the crash, the driver of the Ford Taurus ran off and left behind two injured passengers: a 23-year-old woman who suffered critical injuries and a 43-year-old woman with minor injuries.

Kinzer was treated at St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla and was then arrested and booked into the Walla Walla County Jail for investigation of DUI and second-degree assault.

Anyone with information on the driver who fled the scene is asked to call the OSP at 541-278-4090.
