What's your favorite place for that initial rendezvous? Or tell us about the restaurant experience that set the stage for the rest of your relationship.

Would you like to go to dinner sometime?

If you want to impress a first date without being pretentious take her to the Whiskey Creek Steak House in Keyport! The food is outstanding, the steaks are seasoned perfectly and melt in your mouth. The service is perfect, they make you feel like their most important guest and the atmosphere is entertaining and fun. There is live music and they take requests. We had a table right next to the "band" and we were treated like the VIP's that we are! And it is kind of out of the way so it was very romantic driving there... Did my date impress me? Was I wowed? Oh yeah! He picked the perfect place for the perfect date! I hope we do it again real soon...

One year ago today, my boyfriend Mel and I had our first date at the Melrose Grill in Renton. We were set up by a friend, and met there for drinks, which turned into dinner.

We had filet mignon, and a good bottle of red wine.
The ambiance was hushed, casually elegant, and it allowed us to talk and enjoy our first date together.

Food, service, and ambiance were perfect for our first date experience.

Our first date was truly a first date: It would be the first time we met.So, a secure, interesting and fun adventure was needed. We met at the Edmonds Ferry Terminal and enjoyed a beautiful ride to Kingston. We had a low-keyed, reasonably-priced, delicious meal with a fabulous view sitting on the deck of the Main Street Ale House in Kingston. The food was good, the sun was shining, and the service was friendly. That was 4 years ago. We married 2 years ago and return to the restaurant via the ferry on the anniversary of our first date every year.

The date that started out between supposed friends and ended up being the first date; dinner at The Rosebud on Capital Hill. A cozy booth with a dim lamp and Bogie staring down at us from the wall, a waiter who gave us our space, great drinks and I know the food was great, but I was too busy falling hard to remember. Nearly 3 years later we are having lunch today at Cremant to bring back memories that we shared in Paris.

The Dahlia Lounge was my pick for the first date with my wife.
The food was great, the service was smooth and not rushed and the ambiance that night was very romantic.
16 years later I figure, it must have worked.

House Of Hong is a fun first date for the those unfamiliar in dim sum dining. It's casual, inexpensive, and quite a cultural experience. The extra bonus is that you can tell a lot about a person by how he reacts to new and unusual and foods.

I met my husband online and we wrote back and forth for a month. Finally we decided that we should meet in order to see if we had any offline chemistry! For our first date, we met at Bamboo Bar and Grill on Alki. It's low key enough to be nonthreatening, but fun enough to inspire conversation! We enjoyed a romantic walk on Alki afterwards!

My husband carefully chose "Mamma Melina Ristorante" for our first date 11 years ago. We have returned every year since on that same date and eaten at the same table! It was very romantic with the owner singing opera for us! We went to a movie next door and have been together ever since!
