An excellent list! I might have moved a few of the wines around, but then, we all like what we like or in the case of Washington wine, LOVE! I have been lucky enough to taste at all of the Walla Walla wineries, many of the Yakima Valley wineries and many of those in the Puget Sound Region. Washington just happens to make some of the best wines around. It makes me yearn for more of them, so I best see what is still available! Thanks for a great list, Paul.

While I found the article interesting, I am a bit disappointed that what I was hoping for was the actual 100 best Washington wines of the year is a list watered down by including almost everyone who has a winery in Washington to be included on the list.

Instead of the top 100 wines, I get a "beauty contest" with a listing of the top 100 wineries from Washington, not the top 100 wines. With only one from each winery, a lot of really great wines were left off the list and what we are left with is a list that includes mediocre wines that really shouldn’t be on the list in the first place. From a public relations viewpoint, I understand why it was done. Next time actually list the top 100 WINES, not wineries.

Gee, what a stretch picking the #1 wine this year. So I know this list is highly subjective, but after a good look at it I have to wonder if Paul really is out of touch with our great wines or maybe just doing favors for many of his friends in the business who probably shouldn’t be on the list. There are certainly many wines here that I would never recommend to a friend. And then there are some excellent wines from places like Five Star, Delille and Fall Line that could easily be in the Top 50. I guess I will stick with the lists from Wine Spectator and the others.

To Terry B.- Delille made the list but they screwed up and neglected to include the actual winery name "Delille". Somewhere in the top 15 was the 2005 Chaleur Estate Blanc.

Completely agree with Harry Mauer that this list is bunk with the limitation to "one per winery". How can I possibly calibrate to Paul's list without knowing his true list. I completely agree that Betz Pere de Famille was fantastic in 2003- but what about the Syrahs? Armada is but one of several strong Cayuse wines....

No list is flawless, but this list seems intended to placate as many wineries as possible rather than tell the true story of year.

Nice list but a little shocked that Owen Roe DuBrul Vineyard wasnt on your list.
