As in wow, there's a ton of work to do before the Seattle showroom -- Tesla's fourth in the U.S. - opens for a customer event Friday night.
When I dropped by this afternoon, a truck was unloading sheetrock to cover the bare stud walls and workers were hustling around, clearing rubble, painting trim and cleaning up dust.
(I'm also curious to see how a low-riding Tesla Roadster will make it over the high curb into the building and past that tree along Westlake.)
UPDATE: Tesla spokeswoman Rachel Konrad answered my questions, saying that the showroom itself will be ready "so that prospective buyers can test drive the cars and talk to our salespeople in a nice retail environment, but the service center is probably going to be ready in six weeks. That's the part that requires more equipment and construction."
As for the curb issue, she said the cars will enter and exit from another side of the building.

A reception area?
Three days to opening, no problem:
This door's almost done:
Tesla's Seattle showroom is on the right. The crane in the background is above one of Amazon.com's new buildings, with the brick-faced base. Across Westlake, above the KeyBank branch, is the headquarters of Tommy Bahama:
