Google seems to have shifted into a higher gear, releasing new monetization efforts as its stocks trends down, dropping as low as $326 this morning.

A rundown of Google's latest moves, which both have a Seattle twist:

-- Adding e-commerce to YouTube Tuesday, so you can buy music, movies and games you see there from Amazon.com and Apple iTunes. Seems natural to become an Amazon affiliate, given the size of YouTube's audience. Maybe it's also an olive branch offered to YouTube-hating movie studios.

-- Today launching AdSense for games, making a big move into the Seattle-centric casual games industry. AdWords for games is aimed at games played within the browser. It's released in beta and available only to publishers with a minimum of 500,000 plays and 80 percent of their customers in the U.S. and U.K.

There's another similarity. Both YouTube and casual games are places where millions of people while away time on the Internet. Google is searching for new ways make money off these huge audience pools.

So will people have more time to play games, watch videos and shop online nowadays, or will they be too busy working to pay their bills?
