Property awards: Kirkland gets GIS kudos, Estately edges Zillow at Inman
Posted by Brier Dudley
In a low stakes David vs. Goliath competition, Seattle's Estately today won the "most innovative Web service" award at the Inman Real Estate Connect conference in San Francisco.
Among the finalists defeated by the pipsqueak real estate startup was Zillow's Mortgage Marketplace.
Other local finalists in other award categories include Redfin, in the "most innovative brokerage," and Mixpo in "most innovative technology."
Separately, the city of Kirkland is receiving "special achievement in GIS" award from GIS industry giant ESRI, during the ESRI user conference in San Diego.
Kirkland uses GIS for data access, digital maps and atlases and services such as project management, spatial analysis and community outreach, according to the announcement.
Other honorees at the GIS confab include Chesapeake Energy, the city of Austin, the Bangkok planning department, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and the United Nations Joint Logistics Center.
