Eyejot adds attachments

Posted by Brier Dudley

Seattle's Eyejot attached a nifty upgrade to its premium video mail message service Thursday, giving customers the ability to attach all sorts of files to their messages.

Attached files appear in a panel next to the video. Supported files include PDFs, Office formats, audio, video, images and Zip-compressed files.

One thing that really ups the utility is the size of the files that can be attached -- up to 25 megs.

That means you can send videos and other files that are too big to move through free e-mail services, and of course the sender can describe or annotate the files in the video e-mail...

Users have been asking for the feature, which could be useful to mortgage brokers, lawyers and others sending large documents that need to be explained, Eyejot founder David Geller said (via an Eyejot message).

"It's bridging two worlds and we're making it very easy,'' Geller said, referring to the combination of video messages and traditional file types.

Basic Eyejot service is free; premium pro subscriptions with the attachment feature are $99.95 per year.

Geller's in this screenshot, which he attached to the video message:

Gadgets and games | Fun stuff I've written about lately includes Apple's iPhone, Hewlett-Packard's HDX laptop and Microsoft's Halo3. Also on the radar are new digital video boxes such as the Tivo HD and the Vudu.
