Starwave reunion: The Flickr set
Posted by Brier Dudley
It sounds like Starwave alumni had quite a party last night at a reunion held at Elysian Fields in Pioneer Square.
Founded by Paul Allen in 1993 and sold to Disney in 1998, Starwave didn't last long as a standalone company but laid the foundation for generations of online companies in the area.
As reunion organizer (and Eyejot founder) David Geller noted alongside his Flickr set from the event, Starwavers can now be found at "Microsoft, Apple, ESPN/Disney (some never left!), Amazon, Blue Nile, LoudEye, Sharebuilder, Newsvine/MSNBC, Jobster, The Platform, Level(3), Real, WhatCounts, Eyejot, Snapvine, Vulcan and many other companies."
Geller said about 70 to 80 showed up, which is pretty impressive for a 300-person company that was sold a decade ago.
