Microsoft sorts out online name scheme, sort of
Posted by Brier Dudley
Mary Jo Foley is reporting that Microsoft will rename its online "CRM Live" product "CRM Online," reflecting a new approach.
The company will use the "Live" brand for consumer offerings and "Online" for Microsoft-hosted online products aimed at business. A third term, "Hosted Services" will describe software hosted by Microsoft's partners, she said.
I wonder if the "Live" brand will get updated after the Yahoo deal is done -- maybe with an exclamation point?
There's a chuckle at the end of her entry: the first comment is from someone pointing out that CRM Online is a domain used by an Ohio real estate company.
