At least that's what it sounds like from this report, outlining the product map for Asustek's low-cost computers.
Coming in May will be a new version of the Eee PC with an 8.9-inch touchscreen and possibly GPS capability, the report said. The $500 device will also have double the memory (up to 1 gigabyte) of the company's wildly popular first-generation Eee PC.
Also coming in late spring is a $199 desktop, the E-DT.
The story follows up on a Monday item on the budding price war between Asustek and Acer in the low-cost mobile PC category. That one said the new Eee PCs may be released even earlier, in April, to get ahead of Acer's slightly less expensive ($350 to $400) model coming in May.
