Blog and social media researchers' Seattle confab

Posted by Brier Dudley

The big-brained researchers data-mining blogs and social media are coming to town for a March 30-April 2 event: The International Conference on Weblogs and Social Media.

It's organized by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, which is kind of funny, since blogs and social media are just full of artificial intelligence.

Seriously, the conference will cover topics such as data mining systems to extract sentiments and evaluate the influence of individuals, according to the group's announcement.

Sponsors include Microsoft, Google and Nielsen Online. Seattle's also home to interesting players in this space, such as Visible Technologies.

For more details, check the conference Web site.
