Passionate reaction to Steve Ballmer, Microsoft and the Sonics

There's been a whole range of comments in response to today's column about how Steve Ballmer could influence the Sonics if he becomes majority owner of the team.

Most passionate were the people who told me to stuff it. A sample:

"Why would you write something like this when Balmer is trying to do Seattle a favor and save our team?!! Are you from Oklahoma? Let's try to support our guys for stepping in to do something!"

From a guy in Federal Way with a mac.com email address:

"I want the Sonics to stay. I'm very willing to have the state pay $75 million for the remodel of Key Arena.

"I'm sure you are writing a funny article but Bombastic, Buffoon Ballmer turns my stomach. I don't know if there is adequate way to express this .... [but] if this is what it takes to keep the Sonics in town, well, sigh, so be it.

My favorite so far referenced the section on Monkey Boy threatening Squatch's position:

"I don't think that Squatch has much to worry about. I haven't seen David Stern at a Sonics game in ages."

Any other thoughts on the Microsoft boss buying into the Sonics?
