Yahoo deal is Ballmer's baby, which now has colic

Posted by Brier Dudley

How long will the squawking over the Yahoo deal continue before it settles down in the arms of papa Steve?

The Wikipedia entry on colic has some guidance:

"The condition typically appears within the first two weeks of life and almost invariably disappears, often very suddenly, before the baby is three to four months old."

We're in Week 2. I'll bet that within three to four months, the Yahoo shareholders lined up in favor of the deal will have quieted the partisan fits. Then the only challenges will be fussy nannies who can't leave it alone.

Am I off base in saying the Yahoo deal is Ballmer's baby?

Gadgets and games | Fun stuff I've written about lately includes Apple's iPhone, Hewlett-Packard's HDX laptop and Microsoft's Halo3. Also on the radar are new digital video boxes such as the Tivo HD and the Vudu.
