When will the Huskies win a game?

Posted by Jerry Brewer

Sorry I couldn't do a Husky recap Saturday night. I was in the process of moving. Moved all day Saturday and finished up after covering the game. The way the game went, I probably should've just skipped it and kept on hauling boxes.

I don't need to tell you what you already know. This is pathetic. In every way. For Tyrone Willingham, it's over.

For me, someone who advocated giving him one more year, I was wrong.

Let me say that again: I was wrong.
And again: I was wrong.
And again: I was wrong.

I didn't envision Year 4 going like this, obviously. Last December, when I wrote "Keep Ty," I was thinking he'd go 7-5 or 8-4 this season.

Well, if the Huskies win their final eight games ... eh, never mind.

The question of the hour is when the Huskies will win a game. Right now, I'm wondering if this team will be 0-9 when it plays UCLA on Nov. 15.

The next three games are against teams that, like Stanford, aren't superhuman: Arizona, Oregon State and Notre Dame. But if the Husky defense couldn't slow the Cardinal, how can it handle three offenses that are clearly better? Arizona is a threat to put up 50 points this week. Oregon State just beat USC. And Notre Dame appears to be a bowl team.

So if the Huskies get swept by the easier foes, then they must beat USC or Arizona State to avoid an 0-9 start.

This. Is. Miserable.

Jake Locker's thumb injury turned out to be a sign. It's just not going to happen for Willingham at Washington.

Barring a miracle that would make the 1980 U.S. hockey team say wow, it's over for Willingham.

Put together your coaching wish list now.

A change is inevitable.
