In my honest opinion, I think Teresa Heinz Kerry needs to be quiet.
Her attitude while on the campaign trail is so horrible that she may be the breaking point for some undecided people, like me. True, I should not be voting for a first lady, but for a president…but honestly, that woman is really starting to grate on my nerves.
Why would I want to hear about her for another FOUR YEARS??? Her manners are atrocious, and frankly, I would rather have a demure, well-behaved woman and her children standing behind the leader of the free world than a well-traveled, outspoken, rich woman standing in front of him, expressing his views to us FOR him.
Yes, women should feel free to express their opinions and yes, we should feel as if we do not have to bow and scrape to our husbands, wives, partners or significant others, but if you are in the public eye, you should be expected to operate with a certain sense of decorum.
MY momma taught me never to tell people to “shove it”, to apologize when you have done something incorrect , to never call people names and to generally act like a lady. For someone so worldly and who speaks 5 languages, she sure can act like a low-class woman. I would even go so far as to say that I don’t blame her first-born son for wanting to stay away from her “limelight”.
To keep from scaring away those of us undecided voters with old-fashioned principles, I would recommend to Kerry and his campaign to reign in the proposed first lady a bit. Some of us may think that it is better for women to stay “on topic” or to remain seen and not heard.
