Seahawks vs. Redskins: A Cartoonist's Wager
Posted by Eric Devericks

After the Seahawks win this weekend, Clay (also a musician) will have to sit down and compose a ballad extolling our Seattle Seahawks while mocking his beloved Redskins. Then he will have to video tape himself performing this beautiful music and post it to YouTube for all to see and ridicule!! Absolutely fantastic!
Should the Seahawks give the game away, (that's the only way it could happen) I will be forced to video myself taking an icy dip in the Puget Sound wearing a Redskins t-shirt then post said video to YouTube. This will not be pleasant.
The wager is set, I can hear the music already.

I just got off the phone with Eric Devericks of The Seattle Times. We've decided on a wager. I was just kidding previously but Eric likes the idea I proposed. OK, he probably doesn't like it but he's willing to do it. Here's what going to happen after Saturday: After our Redskins pummel the Seahawks Eric is going to jump into Puget Sound wearing a Redskins T-Shirt. The guy's crazy. I can't wait. He'll have it youtubed and then readers from both blogs far and wide can check out Eric's attempt to catch hypothermia in honor of our Redskins. Isn't that exciting?
Oh yeah....and in the off chance the Seahawks actually defeat the Redskins then I have to write a song about how great and wonderful the Seahawks are and how much the 'Skins suck and perform it on youtube where it can embarrass me for all eternity. Now you would think Eric has the worst part of the deal jumping in a large body of freezing polluted salty water full of angry hungry seals...but I gotta write a song about the Seahawks. There's no passion, love or care about the Seahawks. That's like trying to find passion over yogurt, or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nobody cares about those kind of things.
So anyway, the bet is on. You can look forward to seeing Eric jump into Puget Sound on Youtube. I can't wait.
Go Redkins!!!

Seattle fans crack me up. All they have to hang their hat on is this 12th man thing. Leave Quest Field and you are finished. Look, you all should make the playoffs every year. You are in the weakest division in the NFL. You should have a gauranteed six wins every year because of the other cupcakes in your division. Until you go out and beat some tough teams on the road, no one in the country will take you seriously. If this game was in D.C., you all would not have a chance. even so, forecast at game time- 40mph winds. Not so good for passing. Seattle's running game sucks. Washington has a better running game and defense. Washington takes it.

Wawah. Poor Redskin fan trying to justify losing to the Seahawks because of the 12th man and the home field advantage.
Why do you win more games next year so you have the advantage? Play the Dolphins and Lions twice. Skins lost to GB, NE, Philly, Dallas, TB, and Buffs during the season. Guess they can't win against good teams.

The wave of emotion is gone, or it will be gone by 4:30 PM on Saturday Jan 5th. Skins have done there deed and made good by ST and for that I applaud.
But now its reality for the boys in Gold and Red with the un-politically correct Name of Redskins, Hail to the skins for the last time Last week.

I am horribly disappointed that you did not demand a dance segment be included in Clay's YouTube video.

So let's hear (and see) that song! And by the way, Clay, the Potomac is far more polluted than Puget Sound. George Washington supposedly threw a dollar across it, but you can bet he never swam in it. Enjoy your Redskins yogurt!

Uh, you'd think Clay could actually spell the name of his beloved team, but I guess that is expecting too much from an East Coaster (and cartoonist?!) Thanks to our beloved Hawks, Eric won't have to suffer the red skin that preceeds icy blue! Go Redkins...Ha!

You know the Seahawks really are the worst football team that has ever been created and I live in the state and I still think that they are the crappiest players in Football. Oh well at least it is not the Mariners becasue they -like the Seahawks- suck at their game. I am sad to say that unfortuniately I live here so I have to support them so their poor egos won't become to stagnant adn deflate.
